If I am trying to be a liar, I will tell you that I am a very loyal user of 1 Linux distribution and I have been focusing on 1 programming language.
But that is not the truth. Since the beginning of 2004, I have been hopping from Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS, Unity Linux, Fedora and Arch Linux. And recently, between Ubuntu and Arch Linux. Each of these distribution has their pros and cons. And these pros and cons are the main reason of my switch. At a certain time of period, I want an OS that just works, then I choose Ubuntu because 'normal user's stuffs are polished better in it. And at other time, I want to be more adventurous and getting newer software faster, then I switch to Fedora and Arch Linux. And when I feel like contributing back to the Linux community, I feel more welcomed in a small community like PCLinuxOS and Unity Linux.
Sometimes, I feel bad about hopping here and there. But other times, I found that this is a way for me to learn more about Linux too. The same theory goes to programming language.
Since I was exposed to programming, I have come across C, C++, Visual Basic, Java, Python, Ruby, and various Web programming languages. Depending on my need at times, I switch between them. I have been wondering whether this is a good thing for me or not as I could have explored deeper about 1 programming language if I just focus on it. But still that is just a thought and as long as I could have done what is passed to me, I think any languages should be fine.
P/S:
Wow. Things changes a lot in Blogger here and apparently I wasn't here for almost one whole year. Things are getting better and well done, Googlers.
